Rosemary Cardigan Pattern

The Rosemary Cardigan is worked top down in back and forth rows. The work starts from the neck by making gradual increases. Once the desired height of yoke is reached, you proceed to divide the body for the sleeves. The body is worked flat and the sleeves are worked in the round with turning rows, this means that there are no seams on the sleeves. Rows with a contrasting colour are inserted into the yoke.

You will find instructions for 2 types of sleeves, the regular fit sleeve and the balloon sleeve which is a little wider towards the cuff. Depending on your style, you can choose the one you prefer.

The sizes XS, (S), M, (L), XL, (2XL) are designed to fit a bust circumference of: 80 – 85; (85 – 90); 90 – 95; (95 – 100); 100 – 110; (110 – 120); 120 cm – 130 cm; 30 ½ - 33 ½; (33½ - 35½); 35½ - 37½; (37½ - 39½); 39½ - 43¼; (43¼ - 47¼); 47¼ - 51¼ inches

Finished measurements (wet blocked)
• Circumference: 88, (88), 100, (100), 112, (112), 124 cm.
• Yoke depth: 20, (22), 22, (24), 24, (26), 26 cm.
• Sleeve length: 52, (52), 50, (50), 48, (48), 46 cm. Measured from the underarm to the cuff.
The measurements are an estimate and will vary if you make any changes to your work.

Gauge
10 x 10 cm = 18 sts x 10 R with 4 mm hook wet blocked.

Hooks
• 4 mm for the main pattern, or size needed to meet gauge.
• 4.5 and 5 mm for the foundation chain and edging.
You will also need scissors, some removable stitch markers, a measuring tape, a tapestry needle and 5 buttons (20 mm of diameter).

Recommended yarn
Mistral from Sesia, 1 ball (50g= 175m/192yd), or Camilla from Silke 1 ball (50g= 175m/192yd).
Quantity
• Main colour: 400, (400), 450, (500), 500, (550), 600 grams of sport weight yarn.
• Contrasting colour: approx. 30 grams of any sport weight yarn.
